The 24-Carrot Manager

Just finish this book, a nice quick read

What I found useful is:
  • Get out of your office regularly, spend some time to walk around, talk to your people, ask them what they are working on and what rewards they value.

  • Take note of potential recognition stories and be specific. If you notice something great, say so immediately and make them feel appreciated. Don't wait until you can offer an employee a raise or promotion

  • Employees attach more value to a reward they find personally meaningful than to a generic gift. Learn about his/her interest, remember birthday & work anniversary and tie recognition to company's goals and values

World Cup 2010 fever

World Cup 2010 was a bit boring to me because I could only watch outdated highlights in exchange for enough sleep. But finally I did watch a world cup match live @ Austin Chase!!

It was the semifinals between germany and spain. Spain won 1-0 with its superb ball control. The game ended at 4am something and I was a walking zombie the next day.. :(

Mun Soon, the man who "motivates" me to watch a live game

Shu Yih, I heard he never miss a game during world cup 2010. How could he stay awake in the office???

Never surprise to see the "couple" again.. :P

Taiwan tour: New discoveries...

A few interesting discoveries during my recent trip to Taiwan.

Meeting with Owen Yap (叶剑锋, famous 8TV news caster) reminds me that, I too can become a star...

Pigs are so adorable when they are walking(and sleeping), even nicer when it is being serve as roast pig....

You can simply take off your clothes at tourism spot by claiming you are from China...

Now I know my mum is really superb in communication & influential skills. Not only did she lead all the aunties to go naked in hot spring spa, moreover, she is able to match make me with some of the girls at the travel group. By the end of the tour, all 2 buses (50+ people) already knew who I am and came out with 1 HIGHLY potential candidate. Love is everywhere... :)

bad day...

My small Atoz and I was involved in a minor accident last Thursday night, in front of new golden bay food court. A young motorist tries from the opposite direction tries to avoid a car, but hit me instead. Luckily none of us was hurt.

We were surprise to found out that both Mun Soon and I is not a street smart when dealing with accident. We were basically stunt, standing there like 2 idiots and listening to every comments and stories.

But the most disappointing thing is that the young motorist decided to bluff his way out during police report, by blaming the accident on me.

What to do? C'est la vie

Oops i did it again...

Do you have anything in life that you won't do it alone?

I used to resist the idea of watching movie alone, but lately i am just addicted to it!! When I told Mindy & QF about this, they all felt so sorry for me

It started with 锦衣卫, clash of the titan, and yesterday night Iron man 2
Some more, I watch it in BJ Cineplex!!! :P

Here are some quick benefits:
1. No queue, hassle free - I could get a ticket with best seats 10min before the shows starts! whenever i feel want to watch a movie!
2. Zero waste of time - the shows does not have advertisements and starts on time
3. 1 Malaysia (or dunia) - sitting besides me is Indian, some Indonesian, some Malays, I might be the only Chinese in the cinema
What's not to like?

Erm... provided if you can withstand the "harsh" environment lar.
1. The super efficient air con suddenly transport you from Penang to north pole
2. The creepy feeling of having "good brothers" (term we use in July ghost month) sitting in front of us...

I have found a great way to dine healthy and easily!

The salad was bought from Cold Storage, Gurney for RM5.50 and I bought three flavors - Baby Honey, Oriental and Italian rocket.

Plus it comes with utensils, so all you have to do is to open and eat.
Hmm... Evil thousand island, I shall not give in to you... :P
Bon appetit!

How my slimming session went....

I have to go through 2 treatments per session

First is the "hot blanket", where one will be wrap in a blanket with heater for 35min. You will sweat, burn fat and detoxify.

I would prefer calling it "char siew" making, it is like wrapping PEKY PIG to roast for perfection. It is where you will shout to the boss and say "boss kasi setengah masak (medium rare)"!

Jokes aside, the session is really torturing!!!
Not only you have to endure the massive heat for full 35mins, but you arent allow to move a single inch!! Sweat (in my case fat oil) dripping like hell in face, body, leg... and to make matter worst, suddenly I start craving for "char siew" rice.... *hungry*

Next is the "G5", basically a 10min treatment to shake lose fat by pressing a vibrator device onto my stomach. Man it is like kena tumbuk by Mike Tyson for few thousand times...

OMG... and I thought slimming session is the lazy way to lose weight!!
For this period, these will be my breakfast and dinner to get the most out of the program. Bye bye hokkien mee, KFC, McD, Pizza.... I will miss you all :(

Complete Makeover (live edition)

Here is a list of people's perception of me:
  • Look is very safe (husband feel not threaten at all when their wife always hang out with me... :P)
  • Look like a big teddy bear (cute??? ar....)
  • Look like uncle (age does matter...)
  • Look like Shrek (That is what I am...)
Apparently my look is not too "excited" at all... :P

My chances of a romantic encounter will certainly increase by a complete makeover, starting with my spare tyre. Hence, I took up 7-in-1 Men's Slimming course with terimee!

    Transform myself from this...

    To this

    and the gina version

Ouch... I am smoking hot, you wait and see... :P
PS: thank you dorakey for the photos
