Traveling in Penang public transport

I have tried taking Penang public transport and this is how it went...

My plan
Start journey: 4.45pm
Take rapid penang bus to jetty, then take ferry to butterworth.
Hopefully I can arrive before 7pm

First i waited at the bus stop right in front of Supertanker pasar.
It took me almost 20 minutes to realize that all the bus here do not go to jetty!! Apalar...

What to do? Then I walk to the bus stop in front of Jubilee old folks home and boarded bus 303 around 5.40pm...

RM2 for Sungai Dua to Jetty, quite cheap

Something never change when i took a bus:
(a) A bunch of people just like to crowd in front of the bus, even though the bus is half empty
(b) Some people just tooooooo tired, her head kept hitting the tiang

Got CCTV, cangih!!

Finally arrive at Jetty around 6.40pm and boarded a ferry
This is the first time i took ferry on my own. Initially I was quite nervous trying to find the ticketing counter (everything must pay mah). Later I found out that the trip is free!! :D
I wonder why they don't charge for this trip...

The whole trip Penang - Butterworth took about 2 hours 30 minutes!!
Lesson learn, next time drive a car... :P
And to reward myself, a sumptuous seafood HIGH Cholesterol dinner at Tambun

  2. LOL, why did you take public transportation? And how did you get all the way to Tambun? I haven't taken the public bus in Penang for a very long time. Should be more than 5 years ago. I should try again one day. :)

Oh, and it's good that you took the ferry. A lot of people here have lived here for so long and have never taken the ferry before. *shakes head*

  3. WY: Balik was simple, just tumpang kereta... :P

Mindy: No specific reason for taking public transport, just for fun trying out. Chee Keong leaves near the jetty and he pick me up to tambun.
yes yes, I am now certified a Penangite! :P

  5. Pig, you have never taken a bus in Penang before?!!! Not even when you were a teenager? I used to have to take the bus everyday to work first when I first started working.
